FDMCAD Overview
FDMCAD is a full-featured Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system that allows you to dispatch Fire and Emergency Medical Services
units rapidly and accurately. It provides dispatchers with incident location information, unit recommendations, hazardous materials
alerts, and the ability to easily raise alarm levels.
FDMCAD is normally used with FDM’s integrated mapping system, which provides optimal speed and flexibility in managing resources
throughout the life of an incident. The mapping system can display incident locations and on scene units, display best routing for
responses, locate properties with hazardous materials, and mark hydrant locations, landmarks, and other features. Map data is also
used to validate incident addresses. If required,departments can use FDMCAD with run cards instead of map data, or in
conjunction with map data.
FDMCAD integrates seamlessly with FDM’s Records Management System (FDM RMS), automatically accessing important information in
the FDM RMS database such as property, contact, and hazmat details, and making it available to dispatchers throughout an incident.

Integrated Mapping
FDMCAD uses ESRI® Map Objects® to provide a powerful, full-featured map based solution. The mapping system can be used to
geo-validate addresses, locate incidents, graphically display apparatus, locate properties with dangerous goods, and to mark
hydrant locations, landmarks, and other features. Clients can integrate their custom shape files.
